With friends visiting, we toured several areas of interest, and there are new photographs to process. If they work out, they will be appearing here in coming weeks.

One site we explored was the Blue Ridge Parkway, near Waynesboro and Charlottesville, Virginia. I posted a quick phone image from Ravens Roost Overlook on Instagram and Facebook from our afternoon’s travels, which you can see here.

After a picnic supper, we returned to Ravens Roost for the sunset, which was surprisingly good. While the tree at Ravens Roost is called the most photographed tree along the Blue Ridge Parkway, I was pleased to be able to combine it with a good sunset, light rays from the sun, and a good view of the layers of mountains receding in the distance.
