In addition to the great turnout in Toronto for PhotoDay Around the World, an energetic group gathered for in Sydney, Australia, as well, led by the enthusiastic efforts of one Sydney photographer, O. Sydney.

Our PhotoDay 2014 event coincided with Sydney’s “Vivid Sydney” - a festival of light, music and ideas. Consequently, while there are some great behind the scenes (“BTS”) photos, there were wonderful opportunities to capture a plethora of color and activity throughout the event.
From O. Sydney’s post after the PhotoDay14 event:
“Hey hey, now that was an awesome night out on the town. I think we covered some good ground detouring into the less known vantage points with a heck of a lot less crowds to navigate around.
Meeting up and starting early I think [it] helped in a non rushed set up for the changing hues of the skyline and the lights ON visual feast.
“The weather could have turned on us in a big way but we only had one passing shower and that provided an opportunity for a photo that appears will be rare during this dry Vivid 2014. The patchy cloud cover delighted me as you heard throughout the night buy adding texture and framing the skyline.

“I do hope the PhotoDay Around the World is held again next year and would be happy to co-ordinate the Sydney event, I’d also be pleased if more of the Sydney Pro shooters could join us and help promote this community event.
“All in all I’m pleased with how it all turned out, I’ve learnt some things, discovered some others, I’m also happy to get some feedback here or PM on how improve the walks.
“But most of all, meeting and spending time with a great group of people in a city am lucky to call home.
“Thank you to all attendees, special mention to those who came from far outside of Sydney and the outer regional areas.”
