This is a shot of the Upper Falls at Tahquamenon Falls State Park, in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
There are several great viewing spots that are all an easy walk from the parking area in this wonderful park. There are two separate areas, one for the upper falls, and one for the lower falls, about four miles downstream from the upper falls.
We came to the upper falls first. The river is in a deep gorge, so our first view was from the rim of the gorge. Then, going left, there are 90+ steps down to the river, where you can take some nice views of the falls from a bit downstream.
Climbing back up (what goes down, must come up), we then went upstream a bit, where this image was made, looking down at the falls. Later we went nearer the falls, where there are over 100 steps down to the nearest vantage point.
