Looking for beach pictures, we were introduced to First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach last year. At the time, I wanted to take a long exposure, to soften the waves, but had not remembered to bring everything I needed for that type of shot. This weekend the weather was ideal, and we went back again, this time with the equipment!

Since it was a beautiful, warm day, the beach was full of people sunbathing, playing in the water, walking their dogs, and more. It was a bit of a challenge to find a perspective for beach pictures that wouldn’t have all the activity to distract from the scene I had planned, but scrambling up the small sand dunes behind the beach, I found that the sea grass and dunes gave the perfect vantage point.
