Shenandoah Photography Workshop 2015

Dates: August 21 - 23, 2015 Location: Shenandoah Mountains / Blue Ridge Parkway Price: $495

This is a photography workshop that includes beautiful sunrises, majestic sunsets, and breathtaking views of western Virginia’s Shenandoah Mountains.

Ravens Roost Sunset]

The Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline drive in the Shenandoah National Park are known for their mountain-top views. The area we’ll visit overlooks the picturesque Shenandoah Valley. There are scenic overlooks, waterfalls, and historic cabins and buildings. We’ll be visiting several of these as part of our Shenandoah photography workshop. Your workshop tuition includes admission to park areas we enter for the workshop.

This photography workshop is appropriate for photographers of all skill levels, though it will have the most value for beginners through intermediate skill levels.

You should bring:

  • camera and lenses (of course)
  • fully charged camera batteries
  • plenty of empty memory cards
  • a good tripod, and
  • a keen interest in photographing this beautiful area.

You may also want to bring a headlamp or flashlight, and a waterproof camera cover (just in case, as weather may be changeable).

Stairs, Crabtree Falls

The main portions of the workshop will not include lengthy hikes or climbing. However, there are some places we visit that will optionally require easy climbs along waterfalls or on trails with stairs (see photo of trail).

This is a great opportunity to learn, improve your photography, and enjoy the gorgeous Shenandoah region.

We will gather for our classroom sessions at the Iris Inn, in Waynesboro, Virginia (see map, below).

You are responsible for your own transportation, meals (Saturday lunch is provided), and lodging. If you decide to book your lodging at the Iris Inn, rooms are being held for our group, so you will need to call and request rooms for the Scott Thomas Photography Workshop.
